Our Mission:

My Friend’s House Shelter and Youth Rising Outreach exist to equip, empower, and encourage our local youth by meeting the immediate needs of homeless and at-risk youth. We aim to serve them before they become victims of drugs, street gangs, sex trafficking, incarceration, or homelessness. The program provides Solano County youth between the ages of 12-24 with comprehensive case management, connections to trusted adult mentors, fun and safe environments, and access to essential goods and services like food, clothing, school supplies, and toiletries.

We are working to create a collaboration of agencies and community partners to provide seamless services to this vulnerable population. Our program provides a holistic approach to serving youth by connecting them to a wide variety of services, including mental health care, employment services, education support and more!


My Friend’s House Shelter:

My Friend’s House TAY Shelter is an 8-bed 90-day emergency and transitional shelter in Vacaville serving Solano County youth age 18-24, a Housing First program with optional supportive services.

Youth Rising Outreach:

Located in Solano County, the Youth Rising Outreach Program offers low-barrier access for local teens who are homeless or are at-risk of experiencing homelessness, or are interested in learning more about the Human Services Field. We currently have multiple outreach offices throughout Solano County, including Vacaville High School (Room 24), Will C. Wood High School (P-07), Kimme WRAP (Room 4), and SWAE. You can swing by for food, clothing, supplies, or just to hang out!

We Are VSSC

My Friend’s House and Youth Rising are governed by Vacaville Solano Services Corporation (VSSC), the same 501c3 nonprofit that governs Opportunity House Shelter and the Opportunity House Thrift Store. When you support VSSC, you support all of our homeless advocacy programs.
